Next meeting friday March 23

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

We had a great time and Ryan’s presentation on composition was very good. Most people ended up doing watercolors. Hope to see you at the next one, Friday March 23rd. 6:00pm at Joel and Blanca’s house.

Plein Air at Sweetwater Trailhead

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

When: Sunday morning, March 11th
Where: Sweetwater Trailhead, Saguaro National Park West
***Meet at Ryan & Andrea’s house at 9,15am to carpool***The weather forecast for Sunday is warm and sunny, so we’re going to try a plein air experience! Hopefully we’ll get to see some wildflowers if it’s not too early in the season.

We’ll meet at our house at 9,15 and leave at 9,30 SHARP (not Village time!). The trailhead is on the West side so it’s a drive across town to get there. If you want to go on your own, click here to get directions to the trailhead.

At 10,00am I will be giving a short lecture on composition. After the lecture, enjoy a short hike, explore the Sonoran desert and try out compositions of your own. At 11,30am we’ll gather back together for an informal critique.

What to bring:
* Pants and good closed-toe shoes for walking in the desert
* Your own materials, and a means to carry them – if you don’t have any and want to come, call me and I’ll see if I can get you something
* Water – never go into the desert without water!
* Snacks if you want ‘em

Remember, meet at our house at 9,15 because we leave promptly at 9,30… see you Sunday!
